Harris Burdick was the name of an author who went to a publisher with ideas for 13 stories. For each story all he brought was an illustration from the story and a quote from the story. The publisher loved all of the ideas, and asked Harris Burdick to bring all of the stories in their entirety to be published. Harris Burdick agreed to return the next day, but...he never returned. Not the next day or the day after or even the week after. He never returned, and despite the publisher's efforts, Harris Burdick was never seen or heard of again.
